Cancer may complicate "Fistulae in Ano" and a colloid carcinoms of the rectum is notoriously liable to be complicated by "Peri Anal Fistulae". Both adeno-carcinoma and sqamous cell carcinoma are known to arise within chronic fistulous tracks. Even though cancer may occur, this is known to be very rare and is usually a very late complication.
