There are several conditions that cause pain and discomfort in the anal region and a person may easily be misled to believe it to be piles!
Cancer of the rectum and anus may occur at any age, but usually after the second decade. Bleeding, pain, constipation, discomfort, sometimes loose motion are some of the symptoms of the cancer of the anus. It should be well appreciated here that it will be very difficult to differentiate piles from cancer of rectum because of the very similar symptoms in both the conditions. Only proper internal examination by a specialist can confirm the absence of cancer.
